About the studio

Freelance Falcon is a small studio that builds and maintains websites for people who would rather not think about websites. The work is mostly the unglamorous kind: a site that loads quickly, a form that tells you when it fails, and a phone number that is right.

This paragraph exists to check measure and line-height. A paragraph that runs the full width of a desktop monitor is the single most common readability failure in a generated site, and it is invisible in a unit test. Long-form text should sit between roughly 45 and 75 characters per line at every viewport, and the only way to know is to look.

What that means in practice

Three things follow from it. Consistent spacing between blocks, a type scale with a real jump between levels rather than a nudge, and colour that leaves body text at least 4.5:1 against its background.
